While we don’t pay for precious stones like diamonds, we will remove them upon request (if possible), free of charge, and mail them back to you along with your payment. What kind of material should I send?

You should send all your scrap to get the max payouts. The most common items we receive from gold buyers include gold coins, broken or intact gold or silver jewelry, scrap, bullion, sterling silver flatware, and watches. The gold piece’s condition doesn’t matter, as Garfield’s skilled workers and refining expertise ensure we’ll extract the maximum value for your precious metal material, regardless of what it is.

How long does it take to get my payment?

Our streamlined processes and expert staff ensure lightning speed turnaround times, as we guarantee payment within 1-2 business days of receiving your shipment. If you select our standard payment option, the check comes via the USPS and could take 2-5 business days to arrive. We also have ACH and direct deposit options if you prefer quicker payments.

Are my precious metals safe?

Garfield takes the safety of your material very seriously. The entire Garfield facility is equipped with an advanced video surveillance system and is monitored 24 hours a day by onsite security personnel. All precious metal material is safely stored in a series of vaults and safes, and all metal at our facility is insured in full.

How will I know when Garfield receives my precious metals?

The moment your package has arrived, we’ll send you a confirmation email alerting you that the gold scrap and precious metals have arrived at our facility. And of course, you can call our customer service line at any time at 800-523-0968 to get updates on the status of your shipment.

When should I sell my precious metals?

Garfield recommends that buyers sell accumulated lots of gold scrap at least four to five times annually. This strategy is known as “averaging,” and it allows you to capitalize on spikes in the precious-metals market during a given year.
