Garfield Refining offers a large selection of gold and silver bullion in various denominations. You can purchase bullion outright or take it in full or partial payment on scrap metal you refine.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What kind of dental scrap should I send?

We accept most material that contains gold silver, platinum, and palladium. This includes buttons, grindings, vacuum bags, sweeps, crown and bridge, alloy, solder, sprues, flash and carpets. If you are unsure if we’ll be able to process a certain precious-metal-containing material, feel free to give us a call. We do not accept material that contains toxins like lead or mercury.

How will I know when Garfield receives my metals?

The moment your shipment arrives to our refinery, you will receive an email confirmation. If at any point you are looking for a status update, please call our customer service team.

How long will it take to get my valuation?

Assay timing will depend on the material type and volume being processed. Solid materials may be assayed within 2 business days. To ensure all metal is accounted for we re-melt slag on all mixed materials, which could take 2-5 business days.

How long will it take to get my payment?

Payments are normally issued within 1-2 business days once refining is complete. Standard payment is made by check and mailed via USPS, arriving within 3-7 business days. If you require a quicker payment, we also offer ACH direct deposit payments and Wires.

Is my dental scrap safe?

Garfield takes the safety of your precious metals very seriously. Throughout the process, your materials are tracked by us and fully insured for $50,000 using our FedEx and UPS labels. Each shipment is processed separately and monitored by your assigned account manager.
